meeting days are the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Commissioners
serve staggered terms of four years and are elected by district. The Board
chooses a part-time chairman.
Grady County is in the 11th State Senatorial District, the 172nd and 173rd State House Districts, and the 2nd U. S. Congressional District.
The County
Seat is Cairo with a population of 9,239. The 2000 county population was 23,800. The other incorporated community
in the county is Whigham.
