Nestled in the heart of Grady County, Georgia, the City of Cairo has a total area of 9.8 square miles and with a population of 10,179 as of the 2020 census. Cairo thrives as a quintessential small southern city, with its roots deeply embedded in the rich tapestry of local history.

The Cairo Police Department is situated at 55 3rd Avenue NW and our state-of-the-art 12,500 sq. ft. facility, built in 2020, reflects our commitment to modern policing practices and community engagement.

With a dedicated team of 22 officers, the department is comprised of 4 patrol shifts with a Lieutenant Shift Commander, a Sergeant and 2 Patrol Officers, 3 investigators, a special investigations unit, administrative office personnel, and our Chief of Police. Each member of our department brings a unique skill set and unwavering dedication to the mission of serving the residents of Cairo.
