The Cairo Police Department is headed by the Chief of Police. Other ranks within the department include; Administrative Lieutenant, Lieutenant, Sergeant, Police Officer, Police Officer Trainee, School Resource Officer, and Investigator.

The Cairo Police Department employs 25 full time employees including the Chief of Police.

Administrative Operations: Municipal Court, Internal Training, Computer Services and General Administration.

Investigative Operations: Criminal Investigations Division

Community Services: Community Relations (includes Neighborhood Watch and safety education programs) and Citizen’s Police Academy.

Patrol Operations: General patrol and Community Based Policing.
