City Clerk

The City Clerk’s office provides information pertaining to Ordinances, Resolutions, City Council Agendas and Minutes, Municipal Code, Elections, Open Records, and is the official custodian of the City seal. The City Clerk’s office also serves as the point of contact for issuing Occupational Tax Licenses, Mobile Food Vending Permits, the purchase of cemetery lots, landfill payments, park reservations, banner permits for North and South Broad Street, and special event permits. 

The City Clerk is also the Municipal Court Clerk, which includes managing court records, financial administration of fines and penalties, and officiating over court paperwork. The Cairo Municipal Court is a court of limited jurisdiction that hears traffic violations issued within the corporate city limits of Cairo as well as violations of city ordinances.
