Information Technology Manager

Salary Range: $75,000- $88,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience
Position Summary
The Information Technology Manager is responsible for managing the City’s day-to-day technology operations and serving as the primary point of contact for all IT-related matters. This position ensures reliable, secure, and efficient technology services across all departments. This is a hands-on role that also provides oversight, planning, and accountability for the City’s overall IT environment, including management of the City’s website and digital platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
IT Operations & Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related issues across the City
- Provide day-to-day technical support (help desk, troubleshooting, user support)
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, and related equipment
- Manage user accounts, access, and permissions
Network & Systems Management
- Monitor and maintain network performance, connectivity, and reliability
- Manage servers, backups, and system operations
- Perform system updates, patching, and software installations
- Maintain cybersecurity practices and protect City systems and data
Website & Digital Services
- Manage and maintain the City’s website, ensuring content is current, accurate, and accessible
- Coordinate with departments to update information, forms, and announcements
- Assist with improvements to website functionality and user experience
- Ensure website compliance with basic accessibility and security standards
IT Oversight & Planning
- Evaluate and recommend technology improvements and upgrades
- Assist with budgeting and planning for IT needs
- Ensure systems are efficient, secure, and aligned with City operations
- Maintain documentation of systems and processes
Project Implementation
- Lead or assist with technology upgrades and system improvements
- Coordinate setup and deployment of new hardware and software

Administrative & Reporting
- Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets
- Provide updates and recommendations to the City Manager
- Track system performance and identify areas for improvement
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
- 3–5 years of IT support or systems administration experience
Certifications (Preferred)
- CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ preferred
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals or ITIL Foundation beneficial
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of certifications
- Certification may be required within 12 months of hire
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of networks, servers, and system administration
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices
- Familiarity with website content management systems (preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly
- Strong communication skills with non-technical staff
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
Work Environment
- Office setting with frequent movement between departments
- On-call availability for after-hours issues or emergencies
